Meet Alicia — Somatic Practioner serving New York and Online

The body remembers.
Together, we listen.

Hi, I’m Alicia (she/her).

Hi, I’m Alicia Divers (she/her). I’m a trauma-informed somatic practitioner, spiritual director, and Enneagram coach. I help people slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and begin to heal—especially when life, trauma, or religion has pulled them away from themselves.

I’ve spent over 15 years in full-time ministry, and I’m currently a pastor at Good Shepherd New York, an inclusive ecumenical church in Manhattan. My roots are in spiritual care—but over time, I realized that true healing happens when we bring the body into the conversation.

That noticing led me into the world of somatic therapy, where I now support clients through nervous system healing, emotional resilience, and deeper spiritual reconnection.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, deconstruction, burnout, or a quiet sense that something’s off—I offer grounded, spacious support to help you come home to yourself.

How I Work

I use the phrase somatic therapy as a broad umbrella for the work I do—because the body is the foundation of everything I offer. Whether we’re working through anxiety, trauma, spiritual questions, or attachment dynamics, we start by tuning into your body’s signals and patterns.

My sessions are collaborative and personalized.

I draw from a wide range of tools—including somatic coaching, trauma-informed care, spiritual direction, and nervous system regulation—and together, we choose what best supports you. This integrative approach lets us respond to your specific needs in real time, always with curiosity and care.

Clients often describe this work as gentle but powerful. We move at the speed of trust—starting with your body, your story, and what feels most alive.

A Bit More Human

I live in New York, where I work with clients both in person and online—from Brooklyn to Switzerland to Jordan. It’s a city of skyline and water—always moving, yet somehow helping me slow down. The water helps me orient. It’s where I feel most calm, most regulated, most myself.

My mornings are slow and sacred—usually iced coffee in hand, a few quiet moments to myself, and a Wordle text thread that’s become its own kind of ritual. I walk the city often—sometimes to get somewhere, but mostly to come back to myself. I’m a cat person (my cat Catbsy has a lot of opinions), and my friends say I’m solar powered—something about me lights up in the sun. I’m happiest in the summer.

Before this chapter of my work, I spent years serving in refugee communities across the world—especially in the Arab world. I’ve been in full-time ministry my entire career, and I’m currently the Pastor of Community and Mission at Good Shepherd New York, an inclusive ecumenical church in Manhattan. That role allows me to move toward what I call embodied activism: showing up in the world with a nervous system that can stay present, responsive, and rooted in care.

That’s still the work I do. I hold space for people to come home to themselves—gently, honestly, and with just enough curiosity to uncover what’s ready to shift.
